About The Woodlots...
The Woodlots at Croft Lake is located mere minutes from the Atlantic Ocean in the seaside community of Chester Basin. Our modern loft-style cabin is surrounded by acres of Acadian forest with stunning views of the natural landscape in all directions. A large wood-fired/electric hybrid hot tub is tucked in out front, while Adirondack chairs and a fire pit provide the perfect place to relax and keep warm in between soaks.
A short stroll through the woods will lead you to Croft Lake, where you can take a paddle or refreshing dip off the private dock, or sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of the calm waters.
The Woodlots sits adjacent to the Rum Runners rail trail, which connects the villages and towns of the South Shore. From here you can walk, hike or bike to Chester, SENSEA Nordic Spa, Oak Island, Mahone Bay, Lunenburg and beyond. The seaside public wharf is also within walking distance from the property, where fishing and tour charters of Mahone Bay can be arranged.

Our Story
The Woodlots at Croft Lake began with a vision to provide modern and unique accommodations to visitors of the South Shore.
While searching for that ideal location to call home, a former railway line connecting Halifax to Lunenburg caught our attention. This abandoned rail line that once played a vital role connecting vacation seekers to the villages, towns and beaches of our area, has since been repurposed and transformed into a recreational trail for pedestrians and bicyclists.
So we set out to find that perfect spot along the former rail line, where guests could park their vehicles for the duration of their stay, and head out on the trail by foot or bicycle to explore our coastal communities. And thus the Woodlots at Croft Lake was born.
