Local Experiences
The Woodlots At Croft Lake sits in the perfect location to set out and explore all of what South Shore, Nova Scotia has to offer. Adjacent to the property runs Rum Runner Trail, a former rail line connecting the City of Halifax to the Town of Lunenburg. This hard-packed, relatively flat multi-use trail is used by walkers, cyclists, off-highway vehicles and horesback riders in the summer months; while in the winter months cross country skiers, snowshoers and snowmobilers also make use of the trail.
The Village of Chester Basin and public wharf, is a short walk from the property. From here you can catch a chartered tour or fishing boat, or visit the popular Seaside Shanty restaurant for a bite to eat. Longer walks/hikes along Rum Runners Trail will take you to the Village of Chester and SENSEA Nordic Spa heading East and Gold River, Pirate Ship Park and Oak Island Resort heading West. Further along the trail, the historic Towns of Mahone Bay and Lunenburg are accesable via pedal power, e-bike or vehicle.
